Burke Volkswagen in the Community

Burke Volkswagen has been committed to supporting our local community for 109 years. Our fourth generation, family owned and operated dealership works year-round to give back to charitable causes, creating and participating in projects and events throughout the year. From raising funds for veterans through our annual Car, Truck & Cycle Show, to sponsoring our local sports clubs, to presenting a graduating senior in Cape May County with our Burke Promise Scholarship, Burke is always looking for the next opportunity to support our neighbors. 

The Burke Promise Initiative

Burke Volkswagen launched the Burke Promise in 2019 to reaffirm our over century of commitment to our customers. As part of the Burke Promise, for every vehicle purchased, Burke makes a donation to one of four local charitable organizations chosen by our customers. We select new charitable organizations annually to be of the most benefit to the community at large. Organizations that have received donations through the Burke Promise include:

    In our inaugural year of our Burke Promise initiative, we exceeded our goal and raised over $30,000 to donate on our customers' behalves back to our community.

Car, Truck & Cycle Show

Since 2015, Burke Volkswagen has been hosting our annual Car, Truck & Cycle Show at our dealership in Cape May Court House, NJ. This tradition typically welcomes about 200 cool and classic cars, trucks, and motorcycles, and over 1,000 spectators. The event also includes vendors, live entertainment, a complimentary BBQ and Rita's Water Ice, a mobile unit from the Wilmington VA Medical Center, and judges' awards for Top 10, Top Motorcycle, and Best In Show. Event proceeds always go to a local veterans group, and in the past have benefitted:

  • Disabled American Veterans Chapter #44
  • AMVETS Post #21
  • Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 955

    During the 2019 Car, Truck & Cycle Show, we received our first ever Congressional Proclamation from Congressman Jeff Van Drew, recognizing our community efforts for the event.

Pet Adoption Events

Each year, Burke Volkswagen teams up with a local animal shelter and holds an adoption event at our dealership. The event is open to the public in hopes to help the shelter cats and dogs find their fur-ever homes within our community. Burke Volkswagen works closely with Beacon Animal Rescue and the Humane Society of Ocean City, NJ.
